Nicole & Mitch’s Yarramalong Valley Farm stay Wedding, Rustic, Relaxed and Full of Party Energy
If you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels effortless, intimate and wildly fun, Nicole and Mitch’s day at Yarramalong Valley Farmstay was exactly that. Think rustic farm charm, beautiful gardens, roaming animals and a couple who were completely present from start to finish.
As a wedding photographer, these are the days you live for. Relaxed timelines, genuine moments and a dance floor that absolutely delivers.
A Laid Back Love Story
Nicole and Mitch are the definition of easygoing. I’d known them before the wedding day, which made everything feel natural right from the start. No awkwardness, no pressure, just a couple focused on celebrating with their favourite people.
That familiarity meant I could document their day in a way that felt honest and unforced. The laughs were real, the quiet moments were meaningful and the energy never dropped.
Set amongst the rolling greenery of the Yarramalong Valley, this venue brings together everything couples love about a countryside wedding.
Expansive gardens perfect for portraits
Rustic farm buildings full of character
Open space for guests to relax and mingle
Friendly animals adding personality and charm
The entire property feels warm, welcoming and incredibly photogenic. It is the kind of place where every corner tells a story.
An Intimate Ceremony Surrounded by Nature
Nicole and Mitch chose an intimate ceremony that felt personal and heartfelt. With close friends and family gathered around, the atmosphere was emotional but relaxed, exactly how they wanted it.
No fuss. No over the top production. Just two people committing to each other in a setting that reflected who they are.
After the ceremony, we explored the property for photos and this place truly delivered.
The gardens were lush, the light was soft and the farm backdrop added a rustic warmth you simply can’t replicate in a traditional venue. The animals were an unexpected highlight too, adding a playful, candid element to the gallery.
It felt less like taking wedding photos and more like documenting a couple enjoying their day together. They even had time for a drink together relaxing on the deck as their guests arrive.
If the ceremony was emotional, the reception was pure party. The groom guaranteeing a good time for everyone involved with the quote of the night "vodka served at 7, dance floor starts at 7:05". And yes, by 9pm the legendary Eagle Rock dance made an appearance.
For those unfamiliar, it’s the classic Aussie tradition where everyone drops their pants mid song and it absolutely sent the room into chaos in the best possible way. Moments like that are gold from a documentary photography perspective. Spontaneous, funny and unforgettable.
Why Relaxed Weddings Create the Best Photos
Nicole and Mitch’s wedding is the perfect example of what happens when couples prioritise experience over perfection.
- They weren’t rushing between moments
- They trusted the process
- They focused on their guests and each other
and most of all they trusted me in every step of the way.
That’s what allows real emotion and connection to shine through in photos.
When couples are present, everything feels more meaningful and that always translates into imagery that feels timeless.
